Do You Have Enough Faith To Wait Patiently?
Do you have enough faith to wait patiently for something that you are longing to happen? When I say this, I don’t mean sitting and doing nothing, I hear too many people saying, I hope that what I am waiting for will happen! We need to have faith in God for our lives, but at the same time he hasn’t created us to be lazy, he has created us to take action! I don’t believe that God can bless us all we can get genuine satisfaction from being lazy, unless you have a genuine health issue, which is totally different.
Take a look at this faith filled story below.
Do You Have Faith?
I believe that waiting and being patient and listening to the voice of God is very important in the Christian life. The scripture from Hebrews 13:8 it tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Nothing has changed, he is still exactly the same today and we have the power of the Holy Spirit to call on his name.
When I was a relatively new Christian volunteering for a Missionary Society in London, I met Harry who had been a missionary for 46 years and he was approaching retirement. Harry was a beautiful example of a Christian man who had given his life over to Jesus, he was a man of great faith and he had a wonderful sense of humour.
Harry Had Faith
I asked Harry if he had a house to live in when he retired as he was retiring in a couple of months, he said that he hadn’t, but he said very clearly that the Lord will provide a home for me and my wife. I was very concerned for Harry as I wanted Harry to have a good place to live as he had dedicated his life to serving and sharing the good news of Jesus to people. I asked Harry again about 2 weeks before he was retiring if they had found a place to live and he said no! I was immediately very concerned for Harry and asked what he was going to do, he simply carried on doing what he was doing and said that the Lord will provide, Harry had no doubt that God was going to provide him with a property for his retirement.
I then saw Harry approximately a week before he retired and I asked him if he had a property to live in and he said, “oh yes we have, my wife’s aunt has gone into a retirement home and she has given us her property to live in for the rest of our lives”! I was so pleased for Harry, I learnt a lot from this lesson, I saw this missionary who knew that his heavenly Father was going to find him and his wife a place to live, it increased my faith considerably as I was quite a new Christian at the time.
May this story fill you with hope now that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and for evermore!
Incidentally, Harry and his wife are still enjoying retirement and still sharing the gospel.

Yes Ron, faith is worth having because it produces patients, even the bible says that patient is a virtue. Indeed it is a good thing to have faith in God because he never fails and he’s never late to deliver. One thing i found interesting about God is that while you are concerned about doing his work (WWJD, What Would Jesus Do), he is taking care of any life challenges you may encounter. I just love him.
