Do you pick up the phone, or go to the throne?
Do you pick up the phone, or go to the throne?
This is a question that I am often asked!
Matthew 11:28-30 says;
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
And Jeremiah 33:3 says;
3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and [b]mighty things, which you do not know.’
Call on My Name and I Will Answer You!
How many people do you know that when they have a problem they pick up the phone rather than go to the throne room of heaven!? I have been in many churches and I’ve seen people running around asking different people and talking about there particular problem, asking what they should do! Now please don’t think that I’m saying, don’t talk to anyone about your problem or issue that you may be facing, personally I love to have strong people around me who will support me and pray with me and actually care about me. But the first person you really need to go to is to call on the name of Jesus and get that mountain moved!
Mark 11:23 says;
23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
Mountain be removed and cast into the sea
I think that we have all had mountains to deal with, some of us more than others, I have had mountains to move, but I know when I call on the name of Jesus, he would answer me! Now that is not to say that the problem will go away straight away, but what I do know is that God does hear our prayers, big time!
I see too many Christians full of fear, but the Bible teaches us not to worry, but to have faith in God. Matthew five tells us that worry you will not make us live any longer, in fact, our worry it will probably get us to heaven earlier. Jesus came to give life and life abundantly let us trust him today and let us seek first the kingdom of God and watch what happens.
