Do You See the Beauty All around You?
As a countryman, living and working in the countryside, I see the beauty all around me, every day I see something new, something that our wonderful Saviour has created.
Do you see the beauty all around you?
I often think of this passage from Genesis, our heavenly Father has clearly created a beautiful world:
Genesis 1:29 – 31 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you, it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.
I am privileged to live and work in the English countryside if ever I have to go into town, I’m very pleased to come back to the field’s and the idyllic village setting that I live in, it makes me appreciate country life even more.
I remember before I was born again I would love to get on a horse and ride around the field’s and admire the beauty of the fields. At the time, I saw the beauty, but I didn’t see the creator or I didn’t want to see the creator! I tried to shut my eyes to creation, but I believe that the beauty all around me had something to do with my salvation. I would look all around me and I would think someone must have created this beauty, but I would stop my thoughts from going further.
Now I see the creator!
The famous healing Yorkshire evangelist, Smith Wigglesworth used to say that he didn’t pray long prayers, but he never went more than 30 minutes without praying, what a great principle! When I’m outside or I glance out of my window, I see the beauty of creation all the time and I see the beauty of the creator and I thank God for all that he has made around me. Do you see the beauty all around you and do you see the creator?
Let’s focus on the things above
I’m thankful that I don’t wish for much, I value friends greatly and I thank God for the wonderful people that he has been around me. It’s very easy to want the next new shiny object, let’s focus on the creator and all he has created. I believe that many people are blind to the creator and they are blind to what God has done. I was blind once to the things of God, but now I see, it is so wonderful!
Look all around you and you will be utterly amazed!
God spoke these words to me some years ago, it was almost an inaudible voice, it was so clear! It reminds me of the prophet Habakkuk, and how he was complaining to the Lord, that the Lord answered in Habakkuk 5:5 and said,
“Look among the nations and watch—
Be utterly astounded!
For I will work a work in your days
Which you would not believe, though it were told you.
When I see creation, I am utterly amazed and astounded at the beauty all around me, it’s a wonderful feeling.
Be thankful
To me the simple things in life are the best and please don’t get me wrong, I love technology and gadgetry which help to make our life, sometimes easier!
Jesus went up into the mountains to pray to his heavenly Father, I will often speak in tongues and pray when I’m on my own working outside, I believe that being outside and seeing the beauty all around is a great way to connect with God and to hear his voice.
I thank God for his amazing Grace that set me free twenty years ago, this is something that I will be forever grateful for, I was lost, but now I am found. I thank God for that born-again spirit that he has given me, it totally changed my thinking!
Maybe you don’t know Jesus as your personal saviour, if you don’t not the King of kings, pray a prayer something like this from your heart:
Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen. Dr. Ray Pritchard.
