In this video and blog post, I want to show you how to create simple images with image studio. If you’re creating content for YouTube, a blog, or social media, you will already know that simple images and clear thumbnails can make a big difference. The problem is that not everyone is a designer (I’m certainly not), and it’s easy to waste time trying to make something look “good enough”.

In this post, I’m going to show you how I create simple images using Image Studio inside Wealthy Affiliate. I’ll also explain how the free account works, because many people assume you have to pay to use tools like this.

What Is Image Studio?

Image Studio is an image creation tool that sits inside the Wealthy Affiliate platform. I use it for quick graphics and thumbnail-style images because it helps me get results without needing design skills. In most cases, it takes roughly 30 to 60 seconds to generate an image, which makes it ideal when you just want to get on with creating content.

If you’re not familiar with the platform itself, I’ve written a separate post explaining it here: What Is Wealthy Affiliate? (A Look Inside the Platform).

Why I Like It (Especially as a Non-Designer)

I’m not artistic and I don’t claim to have an eye for design. That’s exactly why a tool like Image Studio is useful for me. It produces clean, clear images quickly, and for many use-cases that’s all you need.

Step-by-Step: How I Create a YouTube Thumbnail-Style Image

Here’s the simple process I demonstrated in the video:

1) Start From the Design Gallery (If You Want a Head Start)

Before generating anything, it’s worth looking at the Design Gallery. This gives you a feel for what the tool can produce and helps if you’re not sure what style you want. You don’t need to start from scratch every time.

2) Write a Simple Prompt

I keep prompts straightforward. For example, in the demonstration I used something along the lines of:

“Create a standout YouTube thumbnail with the title: Why Image Studio is the best image maker.”

The prompt doesn’t have to be perfect. The point is to generate something quickly, and then adjust it if needed.

3) Add a Reference Image or a Logo (Optional, but Useful)

One of the features I like is the ability to use reference images. You can upload an image from your computer (or select one you already have saved) and you can also add a logo. This is handy for keeping your branding consistent.

4) Choose the Correct Size

If you’re making a YouTube thumbnail, choose the YouTube thumbnail option (16:9). This helps ensure the image is created in the right format from the start.

5) Generate the Image

Click generate and let it run. In my experience it usually takes somewhere around 30 to 60 seconds. Once it appears, you can make it larger to view it properly and decide whether it needs tweaks.

6) Edit and Regenerate (Quick Changes)

You can also make changes by using the edit/regenerate option. In the video I did a deliberately simple example just to show how it works, by asking it to add an extra image element. The main takeaway is that you’re not stuck with the first result.

Free Account vs Paid Account: What’s the Real Difference?

This is important, because many people assume you need to pay to use Image Studio.

In the video I demonstrate it on my paid account first (because that’s what I use day-to-day), and then I switch to a free account to show what it looks like.

Here’s the key point:

  • The tool is available on the free account.
  • You do not need a credit card to open a free account.
  • The main limitation on a free account is typically based on credits/allowance, not “locked” features.

Simple Tips to Get Better Results (Without Overthinking It)

  • Keep prompts simple: Generate quickly, then adjust.
  • Use the right size first: Especially for thumbnails and social images.
  • Add your logo where appropriate: Small branding cues help over time.
  • Don’t chase perfection: Clear and readable usually beats “fancy”.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been struggling to create basic images and thumbnails, Image Studio is worth testing. It’s quick, it’s simple, and if you’re like me (not a designer), it removes a lot of friction from the content creation process.
