How To Start Making Money Online With Zero Budget

In this video, I want to show you how to start making money online with a zero budget. One of the most common things I hear from people who want to make money online is this:

“I’d love to get started, but I don’t have the money.”

This blog post is for anyone who feels stuck before they’ve even begun.

I’m not talking about instant results or overnight success. What I want to show you is how you can start building something online using free tools, a bit of time, and a willingness to learn. Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page.

This post is based on a recent YouTube video where I walk through exactly how I create content using screen recording, often without even being on camera.

You can watch the full video below:

You Don’t Need Money – You Need a Starting Point

YouTube is free. Creating an account costs nothing. Uploading videos costs nothing.

The biggest barrier for most people is not money, it’s confidence and clarity. They don’t know what tools to use or where to begin.

That’s where screen recording comes in.

Screen recording allows you to:

  • Share what you’re learning
  • Create tutorials and walkthroughs
  • Review tools or platforms
  • Document your journey

You don’t need to show your face and you don’t need a studio, you just need a screen and a microphone.

Free Screen Recording Software (PC)

There are plenty of free screen recording tools available for PC users.

Most of them are more than capable of getting you started, even if they limit recording time or add small restrictions.

One very popular option is OBS, which is open-source and completely free. I personally haven’t used it much because it’s a bit more technical, but it can do everything you need if you’re willing to learn it.

The key thing to remember is this: your content matters far more than the software.

The Software I Personally Use (Paid, But Not Required)

I personally use Camtasia for my screen recordings.

It’s paid software, and I’ve used it for many years. At this stage, it makes sense for me, but I want to be very clear:

You do not need paid software to start.

Most paid tools offer free trials, which can be useful for testing, but I always recommend starting with free options until you know this is something you want to pursue long term.

Using Your Android Phone to Create Videos

If you don’t have a PC or prefer using your phone, you can still get started.

There are very popular screen recording apps available for Android, with millions of downloads.

This means you can:

  • Record your screen directly on your phone
  • Talk through what you’re doing
  • Upload straight to YouTube

Start small, with no laptop and no editing software, just keep it simple.

Uploading to YouTube Is Simple

Once your video is recorded, uploading to YouTube is straightforward.

You either select the file or drag it into YouTube Studio, add a title and description, and publish.

Your first video will almost certainly be your worst.

Mine were. And even now, I do very little editing.

The important thing is to start. If you don’t start, nothing happens.

So Where Does the Money Come From?

This is the question everyone asks.

Making money online usually comes from:

  • Learning real skills
  • Helping people solve problems
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Sharing what you’re learning honestly

I’ve been building online businesses for many years now, and one platform I’ve used for a long time is Wealthy Affiliate.

You can join Wealthy Affiliate for free, without a credit card, and stay on the free membership for as long as you like.

It gives you a solid understanding of how online businesses actually work before you spend any money.

Start With What You Have

If there’s one message I want to leave you with, it’s this:

Don’t wait for the perfect setup.

If you have a phone, a computer, or access to free tools, you already have enough to begin.

Skills compound over time. Confidence grows with action. And clarity comes from doing, not thinking.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment or reach out. I’m always happy to help where I can.

Thanks very much for reading.
