In this blog post and video, I want to talk about how to turn your website content into social media posts. If you already have a website, you are probably sitting on a lot of content. Blog posts, tutorials, guides, reviews, updates. The problem is that most people publish an article once, maybe share it once, and then move on.
In this post, I want to show you a simple way to turn your existing content into social media posts, so you can keep your Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter) active without having to reinvent the wheel every time.
The simple content repurposing idea
The method is straightforward:
- Pick an existing blog post on your website
- Use ChatGPT to generate platform-specific social posts from it
- Share those posts over time
- Point people back to the original blog post (your “home base” content)
This works especially well if you publish regularly, because every new blog post can produce multiple social updates.
Why this works (and why it saves so much time)
Most of us do not struggle with knowledge. We struggle with consistency.
Repurposing content solves that because you are not starting from a blank page. You are using what you already wrote, and turning it into smaller “bite-sized” posts that suit each platform.
And if you want to build your presence (especially on LinkedIn), having regular posts and conversations makes a real difference. You may also find these related posts useful:

Step-by-step: turning a blog post into social posts
Here is the exact workflow I use:
1) Choose a blog post
Go to your website and pick an article that is still relevant. It can be a tutorial, a personal story, a review, or anything that helps your audience.
2) Copy the URL
Instead of copying and pasting the whole article into ChatGPT, I often just use the link. It keeps the process quick and tidy.
3) Use a simple prompt in ChatGPT
Here is a prompt you can copy and paste. Replace the link with your own blog post URL:
Prompt:

Can you make me some engaging and casual social media posts for Facebook and LinkedIn?
Each one must address a topic and include engagement (for example: ask a question, invite a comment, or suggest sharing it with someone who relates).
Please create:
– 5 engaging posts for LinkedIn
– 5 engaging posts for Facebook
– 5 short tweets for X
In seconds, you will have multiple post ideas based on a single piece of content.
How to make the posts sound like you (not like AI)
One of the biggest problems with AI-generated content is that it can sound generic. That is why I treat the output as a starting point, not the finished product.
A quick fix is to take one of the generated posts and say something like:
“Can you rewrite this so it sounds like me speaking naturally, in plain English, with shorter sentences?”
This normally produces a few alternative versions. Then you can either use one, tweak it, or simply let it spark your own wording.
If you want to go deeper on this topic, I have written about the “AI slop” problem here:
A practical posting strategy
Here is a simple way to use the content without overwhelming yourself:
- Create 5–10 posts from one blog post
- Schedule 2–3 per week (or even 1 per day if you have plenty of content)
- Rotate platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, and X)
- Reply to comments and start conversations
- Link back to your blog post where appropriate
Remember: social platforms reward consistency, but people reward authenticity. The goal is not to “mass produce” posts. The goal is to stay visible, stay helpful, and keep pointing people back to your main content.

Final thoughts
If you have a website, you already have a content library. Turning that content into social posts is one of the easiest ways to get more reach from the work you have already done.
If you have any questions about prompts, repurposing content, or how to keep your posts sounding natural, feel free to leave a comment. I’m happy to help.
