How To Delete A Company Page On LinkedIn

In this video and blog post, I would like to show you how to delete a LinkedIn company page. From time to time, we create LinkedIn company pages we no longer need. Perhaps you sold a business, set up a test page, or simply created a duplicate by mistake. In this guide, I will show you exactly how to delete (deactivate) a LinkedIn company page in just a few clicks. If you are still in the process of setting things up, you might also find my post on how to create a LinkedIn business page helpful.

Why You Might Want To Delete a LinkedIn Company Page

There are several reasons you may want to delete a LinkedIn company page:

  • You no longer own or run the business.
  • You created a test or trial page while experimenting with LinkedIn.
  • You accidentally created multiple pages for the same business.
  • You are rebranding and want to clean up old or outdated pages.

Whatever the reason, LinkedIn gives you a simple way to deactivate a page so it no longer appears in search or on your profile.

Important: What Deleting a LinkedIn Company Page Does

When you deactivate a LinkedIn company page:

  • The page will no longer be visible on LinkedIn.
  • The page will be removed from LinkedIn search results.
  • Followers will no longer see updates from that page.
  • You will lose access to the analytics and admin area for that page.

If you are sure you no longer need the page and do not need any of this information, then it is safe to proceed with deletion.

Step 1: Go to Your LinkedIn Home Page

First, sign in to your LinkedIn account and go to your main home page. You must be logged in to the account that manages the company page you want to delete.

On the left-hand side of the home page, you should see a section showing your profile along with a list of pages you manage. You can access your page from there.

Alternatively, you can click on your profile picture or the “Me” menu at the top of the page and then choose the company page from the dropdown. Either method will take you to the same place.

Step 2: Open the Company Page You Want To Delete

Next, click on the name of the company page you want to remove. This will open the admin or “back office” view of your page.

Make sure you are on the correct page, especially if you manage more than one company page. Double-check the page name and logo before moving on.

Step 3: Go to the Page Settings

Once you are viewing the company page as an admin, scroll down the left-hand menu and look for the Settings option. This is usually found towards the bottom of the menu.

Click on Settings to open the configuration area for your LinkedIn company page.

Step 4: Scroll Down to “Deactivate Page”

Inside the settings area, you will see a variety of options related to your page, including visibility, buttons, and other preferences.

Scroll down to the bottom of the settings page until you find an option labelled Deactivate page (sometimes shown as “Take your page down”).

This is the option LinkedIn provides for deleting or deactivating a company page that is no longer needed.

Step 5: Confirm You Want To Deactivate the Page

Click on the Deactivate page option. LinkedIn will show a message explaining what will happen if you proceed. Typically, it will confirm that:

  • Your page will be taken down.
  • Your page will be removed from search listings.
  • People will no longer be able to follow or view the page.

Carefully read this message to be sure you are deleting the right page. Once you are satisfied, confirm that you want to deactivate the page by clicking the appropriate button (for example, Deactivate or Confirm).

Step 6: Refresh LinkedIn To Check the Page Has Gone

After you have confirmed the deactivation, go back to your LinkedIn home page and refresh the page.

In the pages list on the left-hand side, you should now see that the company page has disappeared. This is a good way to double-check that the page has been successfully removed.

If you had the page open in another tab, refresh that tab as well. LinkedIn should now show that the page is no longer available.

Housekeeping Your Online Presence

Deleting old or unused LinkedIn pages is part of keeping your online presence tidy and professional. In the same way, it is a good idea to keep an eye on your other social profiles and pages to ensure they are up to date.
