Do You Have The Faith Of Abraham?

I often think about the faith of Abraham and how we worship the God of the impossible, my question to you today is, do you have the faith of Abraham?

Romans 4: 20–22. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Every human being on this earth will face trials at some point in their lives, we live in an imperfect world. The important thing is that when things come against us we don’t let the problem bring us down, it’s all too easy sometimes to submit to our feelings and feel downcast. However, as Christians we do not let feelings take over, we go by what the word of God says and we stand on the promises of God!

Maybe you are thinking that is all very well for me to say this but you don’t know what I’m going through? As I mentioned earlier, every single one of us will have trials on this earth but it is so very important how we deal with these trials and various issues that we have to face.

Don’t Be Downcast

It is important that we stand on the word of God because if we are going to become downcast with every single problem that we face, we are not living by faith. Problems will come and problems will go, but it’s how we deal with these problems that make a difference.

I’ve been self-employed since 1983 and throughout my working life there have been issues rise up, the way I deal with this is to stand on the word of God! I often think of the passage in Romans four that talks about the faith of Abraham, so powerful. Abraham situation seemed impossible and yet his faith did not waver!

Do Not Let Your Faith Waver

As you go out to work today or maybe you are having a day off and just relaxing, please remember the faith of Abraham. There have been many times in my life when I have had absolutely impossible situations and in the natural, it seems impossible but in the supernatural, all things are possible for those who believe in God! The promises of God never failed to amaze me, I have seen numerous situations where things don’t look good, maybe work has slowed up, but the bills keep coming in, we have to stand on the promises of God and have the faith of Abraham, do not let your Faith waiver.

Choose Faith Not Fear

I remember when I was in Bible school, every morning we started with a very powerful prayer session, which would last between 30 to 45 minutes, it was a very powerful time, the room would be full up with the sound of glorious tongues, there was faith in that room to move mountains! Our Principal at the Bible school would often welcome us in the morning and then immediately he would say, “Have Faith in God”, despite this being over 10 years ago, I’ve never forgotten his powerful words, we have to remember that there is power in the words that we speak, so let’s choose positive words of faith.

So I ask that today you will have the faith of Abraham, you will choose faith over fear and you will speak the promises of God over your life, in other words, drop the fear and keep the faith.
