AI Content Websites Being De-Indexed – Google Core Update
In this video, I want to talk about why AI content websites are being de-indexed after the Google Core update. I have always been very dubious about AI; however, I have learned that it can be a helper if used properly. However, one of the problems that I expected to see was that people would use artificial intelligence to spin out content really quickly. This is exactly what is happening. You can see my previous blog post about why your website should be your priority – not social media!
One of the good things with Google is that they want you to do things properly; there are no shortcuts. Overall, I believe that this has to be a good thing as it stops people cheating the system and helps people to create genuine and helpful content.
You can see the article I was referring to here from Jeannine
Google is cracking down on AI generated content and rightly so in my humble opinion! For example, the website, FreshersLive recently received 10 million views in a week, but now it has been totally de-indexed. In other words, it’s not searchable on the web.
You Can See My YouTube Video about AI Content Websites Being De-Indexed below.
Make Sure Your Website Doesn’t Get De-Indexed
Now, I haven’t looked at any of these posts. I don’t even know what Freshers Live is, as such. But they’re still writing posts. It obviously has Google AdSense on there, and they were making money from advertising and what have you, but now it’s not being found in Google. It’s just totally been de-indexed.
And this is a reminder to even if you’re a small website, like many of us do, we need to be careful how we’re using AI. We need to use it properly or otherwise stand the risk of having our website de-indexed.
This Is What AI Content Looks like
Now, let me show you what AI content is like. This member, he wrote a very good article. He’s been here a similar time to what I’ve been, and the title of his article was “Ten Lessons I’ve Learned Over 10 Years Here at Wealthy Affiliate.” Brilliant article. I read it. I read the whole lot. And I replied four weeks ago. So you can see, I’ve given a detailed reply because if I’m going to reply to something and get into a conversation, I want to give a proper and solid answer. I don’t want to, you know, he’s taken the time to write this blog post, I’m going to reply appropriately. So it’s quite a long reply. But then, unfortunately, and this is where AI is not so clever. Here is part of the reply.
“Well, your comment is like a breath of fresh air, packed with insights and reflections that really hit home. It’s like we’re having a coffee chat, sharing stories and lessons from the trenches of online entrepreneurship. Thank you for taking the time to dive deep…”
I’m only going to read that paragraph, but it’s all very wordy. The reply has no depth whatsoever, and it is not at all personal.
This is just a classic AI reply, which really doesn’t give a genuine experience.
Something that’s made the Wealthy Affiliate platform great is the genuine experience people have. Now, this chap is talking about his genuine experience here, which is brilliant, it’s great. He’s talking about what’s actually happened. But it is disappointing when people give this sort of reply to other members comments.
Write Genuine Content
Now, the reason I’m showing you this is because this is what people are doing in blog posts. They’re just writing a load of drivel and waffle, and Google’s clamping down on it. So be careful. I have also followed Google, the Google Search Central, on Twitter, and I clicked on that post, and it tells you here about how Google views AI content in terms of spam. It said it’s clamping down, and this new policy is meant to help people focus more clearly on the idea of producing content that abuses, if it is done for the purpose of manipulating search rankings, and this applies whether automation or humans are involved. And this is what so many people are doing.
I’m seeing it right on this platform here, where I am m a member, where people are saying how many blog posts they have written. But have you really written it? Is it really you? Is it your genuine experience? If not, it’s time to stop because your content may go like Freshers Live’s content has gone. And so all your time will be wasted if you can’t be found in Google. Very few people are going to find you.
To Conclude
As many of us know, it’s important to populate our websites with content. However, it’s important to make sure what we are writing is correct and genuine. Readers will quickly recognise if you’re content is not truthful or real. In general, I can very quickly pick up AI content, as I know the type of style that AI likes to write in.
I believe we all want to read genuine content, not just fluff and drivel. Keep your content genuine and real and then you know you have nothing to worry about. I appreciate that there are occasions when Google does get things wrong; sometimes, we just have to hang in there and wait. Google has many updates, but in general, these updates seem to correct themselves after a period of time.
