Do Not Be Ashamed Of The Gospel
As Christians, we need to stand firm on what we believe and we must not be ashamed of the gospel, we need to shine out the glory of God wherever we go, the verse from Romans 1:16 is so powerful; For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Are You Ashamed Of the Gospel?
Are you ashamed of the gospel, are you shy of telling people the good news? Standing for the truth is so important, unfortunately, I have seen many Christians who are not particularly bold about their faith. When we tell people the good news of Jesus it brings a glow to our heart, we have to remember that when we tell people about our faith we are not alone, we have been given a counsellor, the holy spirit and we can call on his name at any time, he is a helper. In John 14:16 it tells us this, And I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever
Stay Strong
I have found that most people are really quite interested in our relationship with Jesus, especially if you can tell them real-life stories and about the miracles of Jesus. Whenever I start talking to someone about Jesus, I call on the name of Jesus to give me the right words to say. Once I start talking, the conversation normally flows, I know that deep down that most people in this world are lost, they really want to know the purpose of life and the truth about life. Many people have tried all sorts of different avenues to try and find the truths and obviously, until they find Jesus, they will never know the truth. When I tell someone the good news that Jesus came to give life and give eternal life, if someone wants to condemn me that’s fine, is not ever going to change me because the truth has already set me free, I know what it was like to be on the other side and it was not good!
The truth will set you free
Have you ever come across someone who is full of problems and there life looks impossible? Did you know that Jesus doesn’t always use the people that we expect him to use, he uses people to do extraordinary things, I sometimes wonder why he chose me, but he did!
I know of people who will be in church on Sunday and will not talk to their work colleagues about what they were doing on Sunday or about the Christian faith in general, to me this is asking for trouble. When we tell people the truth, it has the opportunity to bring freedom, in my experience, when you are open about your faith and when you show Christ-likeness, people will respect you. I have been in some great conversations with people about my faith and many have not become born again, but I know that a seed has been planted and it definitely gives them something to think about.
So tomorrow morning when you go into your workplace, I challenge you to tell someone about your Christian life, do you want to be ashamed of the gospel all proud of the gospel?
