How to Request Indexing Using Google Search Console
In this video, I would like to show you how to request indexing using Google Search Console. This is important, especially when our website is new and Google may not be crawling your website regularly. By using Google search console, we can remind Google that we have added new content. If you are regularly adding content to your website, in normal terms, Google will normally find you quite quickly. First of all, you do need to make sure that you have created an account for using Google Search Console with your website. It’s something that’s well worth doing, as Google search console can give you so many statistics.
Simply put the address of your website into the inspect any URL in {your website} and then hit enter. After a few seconds, it will probably come back, saying that your URL is not on Google. You then need to click on request indexing, which will alert Google to index your new blog post or page.
Once you have clicked on request indexing, it will properly take around a minute or two for your web page to be indexed. If I hadn’t requested indexing Google would have eventually crawled my website and found my new blog post. However, I always think it’s a good practice to remind Google that you have added content. If you are regularly posting to your website, then in normal terms Google will come along very quickly and index your website, as it’s used to finding new content on your website.
Just remember that submitting your page multiple times to the search engines will not speed up the process at all. The only time that I would resubmit a page for indexing would be if I had made some major changes and wants to make Google aware of the new changes.
