Why I Wouldn’t Recommend Wealthy Affiliate!
The title on my thumbnail today may seem a bit surprising, however it’s ‘Why I Wouldn’t Recommend Wealthy Affiliate.!’ Now, I will tell you the genuine reasons for the title as I want to be real with people. I have been a member of the platform for over nine years now. I joined in November 2014. Wealthy Affiliate is basically a platform that teaches mainly about affiliate marketing, but it can also be used to promote any business that uses a website. For example, I have an offline business and an online business, and I’ve used it very successfully to promote my offline business. Build An Online Business
However, many people who come to the platform tend to think that you can make a fortune online,’ which is right. You can, and some people are highly successful, but it doesn’t happen in five minutes. Wealthy Affiliate is a genuine training platform. So, if you think you’re going to come here and make money overnight, you’re not. Realistically, if you work hard, you can be successful, but like any business, you build it step-by-step and gradually in normal terms.
I know of people who have gone full-time online, probably at the earliest, in 18 months to two years. Being realistic, that’s someone who’s been not necessarily working full-time on their online business, but working on a very regular basis, like five or six days a week. Now I don’t mean eight hours a day, but I do mean writing a blog post most days or at least carrying out some learning.
So, coming back to my title, unless you’re willing to work, I wouldn’t recommend the Wealthy Affiliate platform, because unless you really work consistently, nothing will happen. You might have small-scale success, but it’s something you need to think of as building a business rather than instant success. This is the same with an offline business. As I said, I have both, and they both take time to build, but you need to focus and get to work and do as much as you can.
The Hubs And Training Pages
Here we are on the Hubs page, which is relatively new to Wealthy Affiliate. It takes you through all the training step by step, one module at a time, even giving you ideas for categories and then titles within that category. This website is more on internet marketing, but you can do anything you want. You need to can go where your passion is. If you go where your passion is, it’s much easier to write blog posts and move quickly forward with your business. Some people tend to go where the money is, but I always believe it’s better to go where your passion is, within reason.
But if I don’t do anything with all the categories and titles above, and if I don’t write blog posts, then I am afraid nothing will happen, and I will be wasting my membership subscription. So, just be aware, you do need to work, otherwise I genuinely cannot recommend that you start at Wealthy Affiliate.
Now, I just brought this up for a bit of fun. I don’t even know what this opportunity is. I just went on to ClickBank and found the program that I was just looking at quickly. These are sort of classic headlines you get, like ‘Write App Reviews’ as a brand-new ‘Get Paid to Test Apps’ offer, and it is killing it with any kind of mobile or MMO traffic. Now, maybe some people don’t even know what it is, but my example is, people see these headlines and think they’re going to be rich quickly. Like everything, you have to work, and Wealthy Affiliate is no different. No work equals no success!
Start with Free Membership
Here, this is the good thing. You have a starter membership, so you can test the platform out pretty thoroughly before you part with any money. Unfortunately, what I see some people doing is they join, and one of the first questions is and it’s a very, very common question: ‘Can I make money on the starter membership?’ And the answer is no, you can’t! If you are serious about creating an online business, you have to be willing that you do have to invest a small amount of money to get started etc. The good news is that it’s extremely cheap to set up an online business, far cheaper than an offline business in most cases.
The starter membership is designed to see if you like the platform and to test the platform out. Basically, you have access to five lessons, you can try out the AI platform, one practice website, limited business Hub, use the Jaaxy keyword tool, limited help and support, core training and access eight classes. I actually recommend people try the starter membership to start with; there is no need to part with any money until you have tested the platform.
Pricing
The good thing is it’s enough to tell you if you like the site and if you want to move further, in which case you can go to premium or premium plus. These are set for the yearly billing figures: so you have the starter membership, which is free, the premium membership, which is $41.58 per month and then the premium plus membership, which is $58.08 per month. They do have special offers on Black Friday and sometimes approximately halfway through the year.
But first of all, when I was a starter member, I was already making money online. So, I actually went to premium within a few seconds because I knew it would work. And I’ve been a member for over nine years. But if you’re not willing to upgrade, if you have no intention of upgrading, I wouldn’t even think about starting because you’re wasting your time. You do need to upgrade. But as I said, the good thing is you can test the platform without spending a penny, no credit card required. And then, if you’re a bit unsure, sign up for one month or two, and then you can cancel at any time. And then, if you really like it, go yearly rather than wasting money on something that you don’t like or don’t intend to work on, like a business.
Wealthy Affiliate Is Far Cheaper Than College Or University
So, in fact, just before we leave this page, some people think, ‘Oh, that’s a lot of money.’ But if you went to university, I have no idea what university fees are, but it’s not only university fees, it’s everything that goes with it. If someone spent that time, three years, for example, working on Wealthy Affiliate and genuinely worked hard, they would be successful. So, it’s a lot cheaper than a university degree, and you could potentially come out with a lot more than you would from a university degree. But once again, if you’re not willing to work, I really wouldn’t think about getting started. It’s not worth your time, and that’s nothing against Wealthy Affiliate. It’s just being real because it’s a genuine platform and you have to work to make things happen.
New Premium Members
The next tab is where you can see the new premium members. So, there are premium members joining all the time. There’s over 2 million members on the website, well over 2 million now. They’re not all active, to be fair, but over 2 million. I think it may be near 2 and a half million people have joined. And many of these people here will be very excited about joining, and they will be very hopeful. But sadly, many people will be disappointed because I don’t think they realize the amount of work that’s involved. It’s important to go into this as if it really is a business, not just a hobby.
Take Your Online Business Seriously
You need to take it seriously. You need to be consistent because consistency is key to success. If you’re consistent, then there’s a very good chance you will make money, provided you can do something regularly, and you keep going with it consistently. But if you’re just going to do bits here and there, and then leave it for a few weeks, I’m afraid it’s not going to happen.
Apparently, according to government figures, there are approximately 28.46 million people working as employees, while a further 4.31 million are self-employed. So looking at these figures, the majority of people work for someone. The reason I mention this is that you do need discipline to start any business, whether it’s online or off-line. However, I believe there are more distractions online which can lead to procrastination and being sidetracked. I quite like the Pomodoro technique, it’s a technique that I use and it helps to keep me focused on the task in front of me.
The Wealthy Affiliate Ranking System
So, let’s go to the next tab. You can see on the above screenshots that Wealthy Affiliate has a ranking system. As you can see, I’m ranking at 17. If you’re within the top 25, you’re known as an ambassador. So, here we have some members ranking highly, Kyle and Carson are the two co-owners of the platform. They’re very active and very helpful, you can see that they are ranking at numbers one and two. And then you can see this man here, Jay, regularly participates in the platform, and he’s highly successful. Jay carries out a lot of the live training on the platform, which are available to view afterwards 24/7, he’s an excellent trainer.
I’m just going to go down here and show you some of the people that I know are successful. Because ranking doesn’t mean you’re necessarily successful. You can rank highly on the platform, if you spend a lot of time on the platform writing blog posts and so forth, and you can actually receive a high ranking and not even have made a single penny. I think the ranking was originally created to encourage people to write on the platform and also for a bit of fun. However, I do think there are many people who take it too seriously and would actually be better off spending time writing their own content rather than spending time on the platform.
Successful Members
So, Kevin, he’s successful. Dale is highly successful. Phil is successful. Diana is successful. Me, am I successful? I’m making money online, and I’m making money with an offline business. Vitaliy is highly successful. Tim McKinley is successful. Robert is highly successful. Eric is highly successful. Catherine is successful. I’ve actually met Catherine. Cassie is successful. Michael is successful. So, there are many members who are successful, big time! So, there are some people who are successful and have done well here, but they have worked and taken very solid action.
Length Of Time As An Ambassador
And if we just look at the various Ambassador’s, Catherine’s been an ambassador for 381 days. She’s been working online a long time. Eric 342 days. Robert 1400 days. Robert joined after me and worked very hard and has become a highly successful young man, but he’s worked extremely hard and is exceptionally motivated. He really has worked genuinely hard. So, like I say, unless you’re going to do that, it’s not going to happen. I don’t want to be a prophet of doom, but I just want to be real. You have to take solid action to be successful in business.
Success Stories
So, let’s go down to the next slide. So, here I have some success stories. I have bookmarked lots of pages of success stories. Some of the stories may just be small achievements, but some of the success stories are massive achievements. You can see here a blog post from Dylan, he’s successful. He says, ‘I’ve struggled online and know how frustrating it is to work your butt off and not see results.’ But I know he went on to be very successful and has made the Las Vegas event.
I can’t remember when this member joined; he was a lorry driver, and when he wasn’t driving his lorry, he started an online business. He didn’t start at Wealthy Affiliate, but he came here already making money, and he did very well here. I don’t know if he’s still here; I haven’t seen him lately, but basically, he’s successful. I know that he had a great story to tell and he was working on his laptop from his truck cab on his breaks and in the evenings!
$33 A Day
Another blog post here mentioned this about focusing on $33 a day. It doesn’t sound like much, but that equals $999 a month, so it’s amazing how it small wins can mount up. And then we have someone here who is back at five figures a month at $10,640. Next success story words from 2018 and here we can see that Dylan is making $4,550 per month and it’s growing. So, there are people here who have done well, but they had to work hard. I just want to tell you, the platform is 100% genuine, but unless you work, and unless you’re willing to put that time in, it’s not going to work for you. You do have to take time and lots of effort to get going.
The Las Vegas Conference
Wealthy Affiliate has a great incentive, if you make 150 sales of Wealthy Affiliate, you have a free expenses paid trip from anywhere in the world, to Las Vegas. The incentive has just become easier as until January 2024, you had to make 300 sales of Wealthy Affiliate. So, they have moved the target by half which is quite considerable.
You can see some members in the above photograph that have made it to Las Vegas. Every year, they have a trip to Las Vegas; some of them have been there many years running due to their success, and it’s great to see members doing well. They’ve made it. But once again, they’ve worked, and if they hadn’t worked, they wouldn’t have been there. But they’ve worked hard, and they’ve done it. And you can do that too if you’re willing to work and put in the effort.
To Conclude
So, let’s go back to my title here, ‘Why I Wouldn’t Recommend Wealthy Affiliate.’ I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re willing to work. If you’re willing to work, the training works. It’s great. It’s a great platform to be on. I have met some very interesting people on the platform. I really like the idea of being around like-minded people. Some of the members, although I haven’t actually met them, it seems like I know them as I have responded to many blog posts and questions.
