New YouTube Channel – Five Months In
I wanted to provide an update on my new YouTube channel – five months in, which I launched at the end of January 2023. The channel focuses on Christian principles, combined with news and current affairs. You can find my previous blog post from three months ago here. When I started the channel, my goal was to upload a video every day.
However, I must admit that I haven’t been able to achieve that consistently, especially during this busy time of year for my offline business. Nevertheless, I managed to upload 16 videos in the past month, although I am still far from reaching my target. One great aspect of YouTube is the ability to schedule videos. I usually schedule my videos for 6 PM UK time. This scheduling feature allows me to create multiple videos in one go, although I have only managed to create two videos in a single day so far.
We Never Stop Learning!
We never stop learning! It seems that YouTube favours consistent uploads at the same time. I haven’t been able to adhere to this 100%, but I am striving for it.
I’m pleased to see that my subscriber count is increasing. Currently, I have 144 subscribers. The total watch time amounts to 352 hours, with a total of 10,381 views. Since the end of January 2023, I have created 131 videos. My most viewed video, which was published on 10th February, has garnered 1,729 views. I need more videos like that which resonate with the audience!
Additionally, I have started using a rumble.com account. I recognize that not all my videos align with YouTube’s preferred content, so I use rumble.com for slightly more controversial topics or content that doesn’t suit YouTube’s narrative. Rumble also allows me to automatically upload my YouTube videos to their platform, although I have currently halted this process in favor of the approach I mentioned in the previous paragraph.
A few factors have slightly slowed down the growth of my YouTube channel since its inception, although it is still growing. Firstly, my channel covers somewhat controversial news subjects such as Covid and Christianity, which may not align with YouTube’s narrative. Secondly, I initially aimed to upload almost daily at 6 PM consistently. Lastly, I need to delve deeper into my analytics to identify which videos are performing better.
I must confess that creating YouTube videos comes more naturally to me than writing blog posts. I also have two other YouTube channels and often embed my videos into blog posts.
I will continue to pursue my YouTube channel and provide another update in a few months.
To Conclude
When I first started out online, it was difficult, as I really didn’t know what worked and what didn’t work. My two top recommendations for working online are Wealthy Affiliate which takes you through the whole process of creating an online business. And VRA, is a YouTube training platform which is regularly updated; you can see more here.
